Can't the hud just load the sprite of the Raygun that is already in game and resize it? This way, even if the gun sprite was changed in a mod, said sprite would always display correclty on the hud.

It doesn't seem to be too problematic for me... As for the life thing, Commander Spleen's idea is not bad at all.

Well, Commander Spleen's idea works fine, but using the gun wouldn't work, as it is a tile, and would include a square of something or other around it.

Also, what you are seeing now is only fulling compatible with Keen 1. If you run it in the others, the life sprite should run fine, but the other one could have problems.

The only way to give it generic support without a lot of messing around would be to use the bullet sprite.

I also thought that as an option

I also agree about the idea of the ray sprite. We only have to adapt it to all three episodes, because the sprite location are different. It really looks nice!

Here comes more progress...

Enjoy. The next version end of month will be able to do that...

NOTE: I'm done with it this month. THe days which remain until the release are meant for vorticon engine bug fixes and small improvements.

There are many trac reports now...

I was waiting to read that complain. Of course he is. I really didn't test that part.

It's easy to slow it down. The speed is at 100 units now...

Thanks again!

Not necessarily ... HQ2x for example, is offset by a filter there are no specific rules to confuse these patterns. It's original scaleX filter that uses the GC, but you're right, it does not seem that good.

Well, that's a good point. I like it how it looks, but with dithering dots it is not as good anymore, I agree. We can include new filters in future if someone wants to develop it on that. It would be nice

Hm. The in-level scrolling doesn't look very smooth. Aren't there any decent recording utilities for linuxt? :D

I think it is smooth enough on the video, however it is recorded with 25 fps.

Try out the testing version and see it for yourself.

I can use higher framerates even with Linux, but should I want to?

:-P
