I think 9 months exactly! Glad to see Miragia did not make you disappear completely!DSL wrote:(whoa this is my first post in, what..? years??)
I voted for "Up to 4 players like in vorticon also in Galaxy Keen"
That would be tremendous fun! It was a lot of fun playing 3-player-Vorticons with my brothers.
Commander Keen in... Canteloupe Quest!

Well, the thing seems that netlplay and multiplayer is what everone wants. Maybe we can discuss about ideas how it should be because, I think we should fuse deathmatch and co-op together.
Let the players decide in the world if they want to be assholes or work together.
What do you think?
Btw. I'm tying up the code of what we have and will try to tie galaxy and vorticon engines as much as possible together. I have done it for the graphics and it will allow us to use background tile in vorticon keen as well. it is not planned but possible. The planes are split now to front and back tilemaps like it is done in Galaxy Keen.

Well, I see the winner is up to four players, so I will do that. It will take some time because on the same time I will try to reach the approach of networking and collaborite gaming, or death match. Decide it yourself in the gameplay.
Anyway. I also have other bad news. I'm going to move to another city and will be a bit more offline next time. Don't worry, as soon I have moved, I will return back to awesome Commander Genius stuff.
But for now, version 1.4.1 just got up today and fully supports Keen 6. It might have some bugs and still issues with some enemies, but it is playable to the end, so shouldn't be that bad. I had at least had a lot of fun getting it supported and I hope you have the same fun playing it.
Btw. lay Keen 8! It is also works CG!

I'm back
Finally I'm back from the city move.
Now back to CG business. I have seen some odd bugs and strange issues which will be resolved very soon, in order to deliver a better experience.
Yeah I had time constraints lately and a lot of pressure getting Keen 6 support finished, but it is there, so enjoy!
Better version is being developed.
And the poll is over, so decision is made. Four Players in Galaxy will. Nevertheless the second place feature will also be included. But I need to do some optimizations in the engine and make some code more robust and state machine based, in order to gather a great game experience.

Hi guys,
unfortunately the progress of CG has slowed down a bit but I'm still working on. I won't be able to make a major release next time, it will be minor but with a lot of hopefully fixed bugs and another graphics engine which will be much faster.
Netplay will have to wait a bit more. But I'm planning to allow local multiplayer soon. Nevertheless, the next version will be more of a stable one and address performance issues and some unresolved bugs we had last time.

Yeah I'm active on the forums again for about a month now, since I found some spare time.
As a feedback to one of the last versions I tested (I think it was 1.4) I had trouble installing it on ubuntu 12.04 (trying to install it uninstalled my mousepad driver and didn't install cg). I'm still a linux noob so all is solved relatively easily, but the only problem I could see is that probably CG has a problem with x.org.
I have yet to try 1.4.4. though
