Do you like Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure?
No, it's not the wrong section.
Check out this video:

Like it? Shall I integrate it even tighter into CG and make the graphics much smoother? I think this one is a good candidate. Special thanks to Eric for his work.

Wow, this is an original engine!? It looks just like how it was on DosBox! However though, it seems a teeny tiny bit slower than the original version, but that's all I notice as far as inaccuracies go. I think you totally should add this game! Seeing Cosmo with smooth scrolling would be interesting!

Re: Do you like Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure?
I love it - and would love it even more when it runs with more fps smoothly
Re: Do you like Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure?
The original game ran at about 10 to 11 frames per second. And since the game logic is tied to the frame rate, you would speed up everything when you increase the frame rate. It would require a complete rewrite of the game to make it run at anything higher than that.
That being said, I agree that the footage that was shown off here seems a bit too slow, even for Cosmo.

Looks to me like the game is running slower than the original but also I get the impression there are significantly fewer frames in the CG version, maybe it's a 1:2 ratio. A generally low framerate does suit Cosmo to an extent, maybe fitting in well with the 8px block scrolling.

Yes, it is slower. It is a quick and dirty code integration I just tested in CG. This by no means would become the final product. Just wanted to integrate it and see how the reaction outcome is.
Regarding the rewrite of game engine, I am checking how much rewrite will be required.
I agree with K1n9_Duk3 having the game logic tied closely to the draw code will make this a bit challenging.

Re: Do you like Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure?
has been some time since I posted a video about that game:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DTT11CbJcQg
Be sure to set the video to HD 1080p60 fps, so you can observe its smoothness.

I liked it a lot, but I think that there's a quite much difference between the protagonist size : screen size proportion in Keen games and "Cosmo"...
