In approximate order of date but not necessarily genre:

The Exploited - Punk's Not Dead (1981)
Black Flag - Damaged (1981)
Discharge - Hear Nothing See Nothing Say Nothing (1982)
The Exploited - Troops of Tomorrow (1982)
The Exploited - Let's Start a War... Said Maggie One Day (1983)
Black Flag - My War (1984)
Black Flag - Slip It In (1984)
Sacrilege - Behind the Realms of Madness (1985)
Amebix - Arise! (1985)
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends (1986)
Nuclear Assault - Game Over (1986)
Vio-Lence - Eternal Nightmare (1988)
Dark Angel - Leave Scars (1988)
Laaz Rockit - Annhiilation Principle (1989)
Nuclear Assault - Handle With Care (1989)
Kreator - Extreme Aggression (1989)

Some truly great stuff to be sure. Really helps one cope with how things just don't feel right on planet Earth these days, to hear how similarly people must have felt in the '80s.

As we've had various discussions of female vocalists in heavy music before, I'd like to point out that the vocals by the British "crust punk" (basically Metal) band Sacrilege are excellent and I would point anyone interested towards giving a listen to "Behind The Realms of Madness". It also for me features really well recorded guitars - some might of course disagree - where the rough somewhat low fidelity sound gives it the fearsome aggression that such music deserves - yet the richness of the rhythm guitar tone and its low tuning is far from lost in the process - the heaviness is truly in your face especially on reasonable speakers. I love the lead guitar - for me it carries just the right amount of influence from Kirk Hammett's lead guitar sound on Ride the Lightning - and it brings class metal music values to what remains to some extent a punk record (as much of good metal does).
Wow, a lot of classic titles there, especially some old school 80's speed metal, all good choices.

Monochromatic Black's Vicissitude came out on November 26th. They have their merchandise on Big Cartel. Infected Rain also has their merchandise on Big Cartel as well, including their new CD Ecdysis which came out on January 7th. When I preordered Vicissitude from Big Cartel I got it a week earlier. I made the mistake of ordering Ecdysis from their record label Napalm Records instead of Big Cartel. Napalm is a European record company. Granted they do have an American site, but even then the orders are not using the US dollar (they are using whatever currency the EU uses). So I guess they shipped my CD across the Atlantic, it will sit in customs for God knows how long. It's been almost a week now and I still don't have my CD yet. The only way I can listen to it is online streaming for now. I will check out Sacrilege when I have some time.

In the last few days I have been listening to:
Infected Rain- Ecdysis
Monochromatic Black- Vicissitude and Pneuma

Immolation
Dying Fetus
Soulfly
Cavalera Conspiracy
Sepultura
Killer Be Killed
Clutch

But I also must admit not having dived too deep into their library.
Extreme metal is not for everyone.
Well that's not really the problem.
I've got a collections spanning pretty much all forms of metal (and punk but that's a different thing).
From more traditional metal like Iron Maiden to Nu Metal all they way to obscure black metal tapes.
Just not everything clicks for reasons you can't always explain.

Right now I'm listening to "Baphomet" by "Belphegor".
I was going to their show with Suffocation and Hate but unfortunately its been canceled/postponed because of COVID-19 so this is the best I got right now.

A few weeks back I bought tickets to Deicide (supported by Krisiun and Crypta) in April in Dublin however a week after booking it got cancelled for COVID reasons. Which makes absolutely no sense as Ireland like many countries was literally scrapping more COVID rules than it's done since the start of the whole gargin' thing so I don't get it.

Still clinging on to my Napalm Death tickets, now 2 Jul 2022 in Dublin having previously been rescheduled to 17 Jul 2021, and before that 12 Dec 2020, and before that 29 Aug 2020, and before that 28 March 2020. Unbelievable.

Meanwhile in other genres, I am optimistic that I'll be seeing Echo and the Bunnymen in London next week (originally meant to be May 2021). Surely nothing can get in the way of that one now...

Napalm Death would definitely be a band I would love to see live. They have an a min-album coming February 11th called Resentment is Always Seismic- A Final Throw of Throes. With the single they dropped from it plus the name of the EP, it sounds like B-sides from Throes of Joy in the Jaws of Defeatism, or a Pt.2 of the previous album. I already pre-ordered it.

Perry Como! I started listening to his singing either this year or last year, and since then I frequently come back to him. He's very talented! :)

Never listened to Perry Como but it sounds like I ought to, as I do love the music of the early-mid 20th century (the 78 era). Recently revisited (on Youtube) a few tracks that were on an old cassette of Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney that we had in the car going on holidays several years as a kid.

However the song resonating right now is just slightly less old, Bob Dylan's "With God On Our Side" from '64.

A few days ago I went and saw Slash live. It was a great show and I was in the 2nd row from the pit, so lately I've been listening to the new album, simply titled 4, as well as some of his previous ones such as World On Fire and Apocalyptic Love. I picked up the boxset for 4, which was released last month, which came with a few extra goodies and such, so I'd say that was money well spent.

Aside from that, I've been listening to the 2 new Guns N' Roses songs that came out last year: Hard Skool and Absurd (Though I still refer to them by their original titles: Hardschool and Silkworms). Gotta say, never thought they'd ever release any more material, and I certainly didn't think Silkworms would ever be released, since it's one of the strangest songs they've ever made. They're good, but I prefer the original versions, especially back when Silkworms was a more industrial, Nine Inch Nails style techno song. (Earlier versions of these songs leaked a while back, I have those as well as tons of other unreleased songs).
The Shifted One wrote: Fri Dec 24, 2021 8:07 From his original line of albums I'd say The Cuckoo clocks of Hell, Captain EO's voyage and Shadows between the Sky with EO's voyage probable edging them out.
My favorite pikes include in numerical order:
  • 36 - The pit
  • 81 - Carnival of Cartilage
  • 97 - Passageways
  • 131 - Down the bayou Part 1 (I actually own a signed physical copy of this)
  • 132 - Chamber of Drawers
  • 219 - Raindrops on Christmas
  • 231 - Drift
  • 245 - Space Viking (perhaps my favorite)
  • 264 - Poseidon
I have to get up to date with his latest releases though.

My favorite single track is still Nottingham lace.
Every time it pops up in my car I have to fight the urge to speed up to far illegal speeds in my country; I wish we had an autobahn with no speed limits ;)
Good choices, man. I see a couple of my favorites out of the ones you listed too. (Captain Eo's Voyage, Shadows Between the Sky, Raindrops on Christmas, Drift and Poseidon)

A couple other favorites of mine include Electric Tears, Colma, Pepper's Ghost, Population Override and The Elephant Man's Alarm Clock.

Some of my favorite pikes include:
  • 8 - Racks
  • 15 - View Master
  • 32 - Rise of the Blue Lotus
  • 46 - Rainy Days
  • 51 - Claymation Courtyard
  • 65 - Hold Me Forever
  • 71 - Celery
  • 73 - Final Bend of the Labyrinth
  • 101 - In The Hollow Hills
  • 102 - Sideway Streets
  • 213 - Hornet
  • 235 - Oneiric Pool
  • 241 - Sparks in the Dark
  • 247 - Rivers in the Seas
  • 276 - Healing Inside Outside Every Side

Population Override could/should have easily made my list too but I didn't want to crowd it too much.
Really a masterpiece that's so easy to listen to yet very deep.
Your selection of pikes is also excellent and included several I also own like Rise of the Blue Lotus.

Right now I'm listening to various Alestorm songs.
Stuff that never fails to put me in a good mood.

Believe me, my list could go on and on, but if I put down all my favorites, it'd take up an entire page.
