For recording, I've been using ShadowPlay since I have an NVIDIA card. It's pretty nifty – doesn't bog down my system too much, and that instant replay feature has saved me a few times when I forgot to hit record.
For the editing part, I've been using Movavi. It's super intuitive, and this is perfect for newbies. With it, I've been merging videos and editing overlays very easy + it has some automated features like AI removal and color correction.
