Lemmings Heritage

Post by Mobiethian »

I have been working on a classic-style Lemmings level pack for some time now.

Image

Welcome to the world of Lemmings Heritage! 60 all new levels, many different skills all in a true challenge to finish them all. My focus was to make this pack much like the first Lemmings, but with tiles/styles from Lemmings, Oh No! More Lemmings, Lemmings 2 and Lemmings 3.

The adventure is yours to take, but remember, this is a challenge and the solutions are from easy to hard. Difficulty of each level ranges, so pretty much it's not a pack that starts easy and gets harder, it's mixed. There are 60 levels with three ranks of difficulty; Smooth Bumpy and Rugged.

Download NeoLemmix here, you'll need this first: https://www.neolemmix.com/?page=neolemmix

Next, the level pack, extract into the NeoLemmix folder: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DR_JxC ... sp=sharing

Also, many thanks to namida not only for the development of NeoLemmix, but also for the introduction to the program!

Screens!

That's really cool and I downloaded these, but NeoLemmix has some really annoying bugs. Perhaps this engine is the closest to being a perfect lemmings engine out there, but still isn't quite there and has issues. And for some reason this engine is applying some kind of anti-aliasing that I'm not a fan of, which I thought is worth mentioning as well.

Thanks Roobar! I'm pleased with the levels so far. I do know what you mean by the anti-aliasing issue.

Well I'm enjoying your levels, but there's this bug where after restarting the level, it automatically places the things I've placed before. It's really annoying and I have to quit and return to play again. And if I made a single mistake it's all over again.

Ah, yes, I am aware of what you're talking about and I have to do the same thing. I don't like that either with retrying the levels and really do wish there was a way to change/fix it. I'll talk to someone on the Lemmings forum to see what it's all about. Perhaps it could be changed or a setting needs changed somewhere.

Thanks for enjoying the levels, I am so glad!

Hey Roobar, I have found out from a helpful user on the Lemmings forums that you can simply click somewhere on the screen when you retry a level and it cancels the replay.

That's what it was doing when you tried levels again, it was replaying everything that you did until it was stopped.

I hope this helps! Enjoy the rest of the pack! More to come soon!

I've updated the level pack to include 20 more levels! More of an "extension pack". The download link on the initial post has been updated. Thanks to those for trying the levels out! Special thanks to Roobar for playing also.

...This looks like another fun level pack, and I've only just noticed that the game engine includes some new skills for the Lemmings. Gonna have to give this one a try!

Thanks so much, GoldenKey! The only down side is, I've been told by some players that it's a bit on the easy side. It really depends on how well that you can play Lemmings. Have fun! There are indeed some Lemmings 2 skills included.

Also, there's another level pack that I've made called Lemmings New Worlds, feel free to play that one as well! :)

Worth noting that "a bit on the easy side" by the Lemmings Forums standards is still generally on par with or harder than Mayhem / Havoc from the official games. ;)

This can be disabled in the settings (under the graphics tab, the "smooth resampling" options; most players including myself generally leave it on for menus but off for in-game).
