Keen 1 levelpack: The Life Of Mars

Hello to all Keeners! Here is a Keen 1 levelpack with a few modified graphics that I started a few months ago, but did the second half of it in 2 or 3 days to get it in before the end of 2024. Get it here!

It's called the Life of Mars because I changed Mars to green, representing that there is, in fact, life on Mars. (Not in real life tho) If you don't like it, by all means, say what you don't like! I'll try to see what I can do.

Update 01/07/25: Fixed inaccessible points in Green Mars Capital, and replaced Ice City and Second Ice Shrine modifications with new levels

I'm about 4 levels in so far, pretty cool stuff. I like that in spite of the open layout of many levels you've managed to avoid the common pitfall (pun intended) of having blind drops into hazards. In the few cases where that is present it's pretty clear you're not supposed to fall down there.

I just realized a bug that makes the game incompletable. I accidentally placed the car battery twice and never placed the vacuum cleaner. So PLEASE REDOWNLOAD IF YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED IT BEFORE!!!!!!Thank you for your understanding.

Also, I am planning a sequel to this episode called "The Fate of Earth", so stay tuned!

I redownloaded the game and I am still stuck on Puzzle for Pogo. The farthest I can get is at the bottom where the red keycard is and the tank robot. I've tried to avoid the robot entirely and just drop down and get the keycard but I keep falling in the water. I cannot seem to get the timing down and jump over the robot to the green hill area on the right and just get the keycard from there. I'm getting older, more fragile and my hand and eye coordination isn't what it used to be. I'll keep trying, sooner or later I will get it. I don't intend to give up.

I've always passed that area by jumping over the robot entirely when he shoots in the other direction. Then at the bottom, I just hard left, land, and then go immediately hard right (the way you just said you were trying to get to). From there, the level's pretty straightforward.

Did you update this download link on The Life of Mars Wiki page too? You don't want someone downloading the compromised game from that link do you?

Hi, I have been playing these levels for a bit and I have found it mostly enjoyable. But I have to say I feel a bit cheated. Because when playing level07.ck1 it turns out that it is most likely not completable. Unless I missed something here but I almost think that is not possible. I wouldn't have spend as much time trying if I suspected it to be impossible. But instead I assumed I had missed something which wasn't the case, I think. I ended up opening the level in mindbelt (which I kind think is a kind of cheating or spoilers) only to find that it is indeed impossible to get the red card and then go back and reach the exit.

I don't really see the point of levels that are impossible to complete, especially if it seems to be clearly implied that it should be possible.

There are 4 red keycards in this area, and 3 of them are tricks. The only one you can get is the one where the garg is. You have to shoot it through the 1-block gap on the right, and then come back around to get it. It is possible to get that keycard, but not any of the other RED ones.

I think that all four of them are tricks. Because yes you can get one of the keycards but once you have it there is no way to get out of that area. You need to jump down to get there and you can't climb that high back up so you are permanently stuck there.

Lol, updating doesn't take that long, but I don't think it's going to be that hard!
