Cool read! I wonder which edition of Fundamentals of Computer Graphics carmack was using. I googled the book and found copies from 1983, which seemed a little old. Might be fun to peruse that book given it's significance to the classics such as Wolfenstein and doom.

Seems there was a second edition published in 1990 that was a substantial update and would have been much more applicable to what Carmack was doing. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compute ... d_Practice
