The new 2.0 savegames from the Xky Keen version and the Classic Keen version are also incompatible with each other. They don't have to be, but I decided to make them incompatible because the hitboxes of the Xky Keen sprites differ slightly from those used by the Classic Keen sprites. Loading a saved game in the wrong version of the game might have caused Keen to get moved into a wall or something like that and I wanted to avoid those problems right from the start.

Happy Keen Day and have fun playing Foray in the Forest 2.0! :birthday

Hey, 2.0a is working great so far!

I am new to Xky Keen mode, though. Could you tell me how that changes the game?

The Classic and Xky versions are just different player sprites, no gameplay changes at all. It's just that a few aspects like the Nisasi grabbing onto Keen's head need to use slightly different positions depending on the sprites, that's why there are two executables.

Out of lack of a better place, please allow me to post a quick update here:
On the upside, I regained access to accounts and passwords. On the downside, I lost most of my progress since we last spoke. Why? Well, a chain of unfortunate circumstances. It's complicated, to say the least. Pls gimme time to see what can be revived, if anything. I hope to also respond to everyone in my inbox soon. Thanks for your understanding.

P.S. Outstanding job you did there, K1n9_Duk3! Thanks for taking care of everything so thoroughly.

After playing through some of this myself, I am glad I helped beta test this masterpiece. A few things did creep me out a little bit, but mostly because they were jumpscares, like the Nessi, the mummies, and those suddenly running and chasing you mushrooms (I never bothered to check what they were called). But the other stuff looks great anyways. Also, when I first encountered the Nisasi's in the Donut Dome, I had no clue how to escape them. I eventually did, but I was very annoyed at them for the rest of the level (sorry, Syllypryde!).

One small annoyance: The shading on the classic Keen sprites is messed up pretty bad, most notably on the pants and world map sprite.

Overall, definitely one of, if not the most, high-quality mod(s) I've ever played. Amazing work, Nisaba, K1n9_Duk3, and team!
Put me in a room full of chlorine. Results: I die and turn into a pillar of salt and a very buggy Keen 6.

Quick note on our end: we're working hard on another update for the 2.1 release candidate with even better everything! ;)

So, pause your ongoing playthroughs and stay tuned! Fresh stuff is on the way

Ok, looking forward to it. :) This will be the 2nd time I've paused my play-through in anticipation of a future update, although this time I did manage to get over the halfway point.

I played a bit of this just now. I like it so far. I dig the music, was it done with mid2imf or is there another way of making IMF files? I assume they're IMF at least, correct me if I'm wrong.

Only thing is the ammo dispensers don't seem to be doing anything for me. Are they supposed to give you ammo if you have below the maximum?

The ammo dispensers have been very buggy for me as well. They seem to only give you as much ammo as you started with in that level. Sometimes they fill your stunner only up to 8 shots, which is annoying. It's worked fine for me when playing, but it is annoying.

The dispensers are not buggy. They are working the way they were designed to. Depending on what level you are on, depending on where in the level you are and depending on what difficulty you are playing on the dispensers will only refill you up to a certain amount. They will never refill you back up the to the 25-shot maximum. You can only do that at the BWB. Plus there are two different kinds of dispensers. The best place to notice this is on Level 3: The Outpost. There is two green tubes on the dispenser at the very beginning of the level but all the rest only have one green tube. With the single tube dispensers you can only refill your stunner up to 5-7 shots approximately. The double tubed dispensers will refill your stunner up to 8-10 shots approximately. There is a dispenser in one of the secret levels that will refill your stunner up to 20 shots. Like I said, they are not buggy. They are working as they were intended to.

I did a playthrough for each difficulty where I never went to the BWB to get ammo for the entire game. Even with shooting every single enemy you can play the game without ever running out of ammo just picking up stunners and using the dispensers. Is this ideal? Not really, but if I can do that, then it is very doable to play the game and never run out of ammo picking up stunners, using the dispensers and the BWB.

Ah, I see. Just didn't know how they worked, now I have more of a sense of it.

Hey fellas, until the next update arrives :korath
Some help please with Lost Mine. I cannot figure out how to access the top part in the outside area (the extra life, the Slug Slime Soda, etc.). Without cheating, of course.

It's not like I attempted to complete the level too early, is it?
(By that I mean, the layout of a level doesn't change with gameplay progress, right? Because it's set at the moment you choose the difficulty level.)

Thanks in advance, and you can PM me the answer if it's not considered public yet.

Hi Gigaman94 and welcome to the forums!

regarding your question, well, that's a bit tricky... to solve the puzzle, you mainly need to bring two things: a keen eye and some patience. There's a key location that’s crucial when you first enter both places. Something disappears, something else appears... good luck figuring it out!

Hello Nisaba-san, thank you very much! :)

I figured it out. I've noticed the something (both of them) and now realized it is an indicator. What was missing is some patience... :D
Thanks again!

Did anyone mention this one before?
Entering the Temple of Doom, it reads "Keen stealthy warps through..."
It should be "stealthily".

And just for the curiousity of it: in Skov af Søvngængere, you're sighting relicts and not relics (so that choice of word was intentional), right?

Gameplay-wise: with the current executables, I should be able to re-enter levels, correct? I presume those ones that doesn't have a perfect flag yet.
What if I missed a secret? To be exact, I would like to revisit Magic Wonderland somehow, because I missed a very specific area...
Let's say I'm aiming for the perfect score. Must I restart from scratch?
