I tried the Demo and Played trough it and I do like it a'lot ^.^
I like that Weapons and Grenades carries over to the next Level! \^.^/
and that you can swap away from the Mines and be more tactical about what to use and when ^.~
Also I really love the Parallax City and Forrest Background, they really adds Depth to the game ♥

Which actually is something I tried to do a couple of years ago with an Isometric Level Re-design like Commander Keen Goodby, Galaxy
But sadly I could not wrap my head around Isometric Level Designs with Abiathar (Keen Level Editor), so I didn't even finish the first Level... -¨-
In Hindsight probably Should had started with Level 2 or 3, Due to the Broken Windows

I do like the Idea of Adding Pushing animation for Logan to Pushing the Rock Block forward
But to me There is something off about it, but I can't put my Finger on what exactly what... <.<;
Maybe I Just need to Tinker with the sprite for a'bit of time :3

Unlike the Lady Hostage, whom seem a'bit uncanny as her torso seem elongated or she doesn't have any hips <.<;
But this were an easy edit to make ^.~

<- Remaster | My edit ->

I have a Question, In regards to the Workshop feature. Will it Include Custom Sprites and not just Levels?
As I have a Female Player Sprite for Bio Menace, named "Jessica Viper"
I'm currently working on an Update for Her Sprite and she could Potentially look like this in the Remaster ^.~

Also would it be possible to have individual Numbered Keys for Ammo Type and Explosives Type, to easier/faster switch between them?
Probably the best it's the Numpad Keys, given where they are in Relation to the Arrow keys
[1]/[Num 1] Regular Ammo
[2]/[Num 2] Armor Piercing Ammo
[3]/[Num 3] Plasma Bolts
[4]/[Num 4] Standard Grenades
[5]/[Num 5] Incendiary Grenades
[6]/[Num 6] Mines

I'm Really Looking forward for the Release of the Remaster!
and the changes to Episode 2 & 3, but also the 4th episode ^.^

Hi Zilem, happy to hear you like the demo! 🎉

I'm afraid we'll only have custom levels. Anything else (like custom sprites) would be more work than we can handle - I'm the sole programmer on the project, and only have limited time to work on it (all of us are working on this in our free time only). I should also note that although we'd love to have Workshop support for custom levels, it's unlikely we'll be able to ship that with the initial release - it's more something for a later update. I do hope to have the editor itself ready at release, and some mechanism for playing custom levels, but it would be up to players to share level files initially.

Regarding the new block pushing and female hostage sprites, we've actually been working on both in the meantime :) The hostage looks quite similar to your edit now, and the block pushing sprites have also been improved. Both will be in the next update to the demo, which should hopefully come out sometime this week.

Regarding key binds for the individual weapons, that's also something I've been thinking about. I can't 100% promise it yet but it's something I could see us adding later on.

Fair enough, just wanted to know. ^.^
As a Modder and with Brother that is a Game Dev I know this very well <.<;

For Custom Maps I do wonder if it would be possible to have Custom Dialog with the Hostages and the Message-Bot?
and if new Tiles can be added to the Sprite Sheet or a second Sprite Sheet?, as such might be needed for the Switch Puzzles at least.
hmm Probably also an option to add a custom Music track too
I think those will be very much requested Features, if it isn't Map Pack Campaign Mode XD
as I do Recall Seeing those D!Zone and Q!Zone CD's loaded with Custom Maps

Terraria got Workshop Support nearly 11 Years after Launch, I'm sure you can Beat that Par Time ^.~

That is what we have Forums and Discords for, or maybe we can even go Oldshool with Floppy's! to share them :p

Ouh? I'll be looking forward to taking a look at them, and Compare them :3

Good to know that Individual Weapon Keys are on the Idea Board ^.^

Where does it crash? Right at the start, or during gameplay? If you can describe it as detailed as possible, that could help me figure out the issue and fix it. And if I may ask, what kind of PC are you running it on (OS, graphics card)?
when I downloaded it during gameplay now it doesn't even open, like age of empires 2 DE lol

Hmm, interesting.. There was a crash that we've fixed shortly after release with the first update. Maybe you can try having Steam verify game files and then see if it works again?

Just played a few minutes of this... I never liked Biomenace and this is much too close a remake to change my mind. The physics still aren't to my taste, and I don't understand why all these Apogee remakes are using the same pixelated EGA graphics but with slightly different colors. Everything seems to work, though, nice job with all those options and getting the graphics transitions working.

I also didn't liked the original that much (always preferred Keen), but I hope that maybe you'll give a chance to the new episode when it's gonna be released. It has some more refined old graphics, but wth plenty of variety, bettr level design, plenty of new tiles and some other new things. Gameplay wise there are also a lot of under the hood improvements which you can't really see from 5 minutes of gameplay. There's smoother framerate and collision improvements. There will even be per pixel detection in the final game. This is still a remaster and not a sequel or a remake, so it can't be drastically changed and feel like, for example, Jazz Jackrabbit 2. Adding new gameplay mechanics (like shooting up) can break the original game, if you think about it. And then, the scope would be too big for a small team as ours, if we want a totall overhaul with everything new. With all that said, I'm really having much more fun with the new episode. It's where things are elevated a bit further, to feel like a fresh new game, while keeping some of the core mechanics that made BioMenace unique.

The BioMenace Remastered Demo should be featured on Steam Next Fest atm: https://store.steampowered.com/sale/nextfest

As a reminder, version 2.0 of the demo was released earlier in this month. I'll further quote Niko again:
As we're getting closer to release with BioMenace Remastered, we want to give more frequent updates on how things are going. So here's our first dev log with an overview of where we're at:

The developers are currently recruiting testers for the game! If you're interested in playing a lot of BioMenace in the coming weeks, you can submit a request to be a tester via this Google doc.

As the release is getting even closer, a new blog post is available from Niko now. Currently, the primary focus is completing the implementation of episode 4's new bosses. Further discussed is the level editor:
