It's come to my attention that there are a handful of Keen mods that can be played in-browser via Archive.org, but only a handful. From what I have found so far, there's Ceilick's The Universe is Toast trilogy and Xmas 2010, and... that's it. Not only that, but some of these uploads aren't even the most current versions of the mods.
Commander Keen 7 - The Keys of Krodacia
Commander Keen 8 - Dead in the Desert
Commander Keen 9 - Battle of the Brains
Commander Keen Xmas 2010
Furthermore, the display mode for these isn't nearest neighbor, so the pixels look all distorted. Would it be feasible for there to exist a proper directory for Keen mods at Archive.org? Perhaps there could be a more direct effort to upload more mods there so we could play them in our browsers.
Archive.org?

Re: Archive.org?
I haven't heard of this website, but playminigames.net does (or at least used to idk if it works now) host the official Keens, as well as UTUIT, Atroxian Realm, Alphamatic, Terror From Outer Space, and others. That website is how I discovered those Keen mods.
Put me in a room full of chlorine. Results: I die and turn into a pillar of salt and a very buggy Keen 6.

Oh, wow! Yeah, this site has way more Keen mods available to play through your browser! Thanks for sharing that! I can tell the latest version of Dead in the Desert is being used on this site from just from the blue Terminator text at the beginning. Unfortunately, Battle of the Brains does not have its gold Terminator text there, so we can assume it is not the latest version. Still, really good find!SodiumtheGlitcher wrote: Sat Feb 14, 2026 0:31 I haven't heard of this website, but playminigames.net does (or at least used to idk if it works now) host the official Keens, as well as UTUIT, Atroxian Realm, Alphamatic, Terror From Outer Space, and others. Maybe the Keen Wiki could provide a way to play mods through your browser. It doesn't have to be Archive.org, just a place where users can quickly access and play mods before they decide whether to download them.

Yes, they can be played in a browser, but since most of them were designed for Dosbox, the display of the graphics might be a little shady.

Someone made a page for Foray in the Forest, but the game still can't be played through your browser. It's a step in the right direction, at least.
