Who is ready for a deathmatch?
So we had our Commander Keen Duke Nukem 3D deathmatch...
Which ended up being me and Commander Spleen usually.
I'm just wondering who wants to deathmatch, when and with what game.
Set it up in this topic.
Go ahead and shout out a game.
I remember back on the old PCKF there was talk of a UT deathmatch party but nothing ever really came from it. I'm still interested in fragging some of you.
Lets organize something.
I can host servers for pretty much any game so that's not an issue.

Death Rallyyy! GTA classic or GTA2...
Much more complicated to get some of those running though, since it has to be done through DOSBox.
Doom might draw a bigger crowd than Duke3D. Which reminds me, I must setup eduke32 properly with the new version now that I know how to set it up under Linux, that way we don't have any compatibility errors whenever we get around to the next match. We would've had more people if that hadn't been such a problem.

Holy crap, I remember that game. It's got multiplayer?!Commander Spleen wrote:Death Rallyyy!
Might I suggest YANG? Cross-platform and works on any version of most BUILD games. It even uses and preconfigures DOSBox when using the original DOS Duke3D!Doom might draw a bigger crowd than Duke3D. Technically, Hexen is a DOOM-like (same engine).
I could go a round of Quake 3. Use ioquake3 engine.
Plz?

Quake 3 is actually... the only ID game I never cared about. (Oh, and Quake 1.) I don't have a copy and don't know where to get one.
Death Rally. I'm down for that. But as you said, it's a pain in the butt to try and get working.
Doom isn't a problem. In fact I jump on IDESE all the time but usually I play Evil Star or ZDoom Wars. Not many people play straight up Doom or Hexen although I could use IDESE to host a match through skulltag very easily. (Just download Skulltag.) VBB's choice is actually the easiest to do.
GTA and GTA 2 had multiplayer?
I'm all down for RTS's as well.

I'd feel like attending, but with my damned internet connection I can hardly access this forum or talk in MSN! (Even there I get constant cuts or my messages aren't delivered.)
My newest mod - Commander Keen: Sunset: viewtopic.php?t=8568 | codename H.Y.E.N.A.

You have to either buy it or steal itZidaneA wrote:Where can I get Duke Nukem 3D?
If you don't like stealing, here you go.
As far as I understand it, Skulltag can host any Doom engine game, but I've only ever seen people playing Doom. I wonder why doom is so centralizing when Hexen, Heretic and Strife make things so interesting with all the unique weapons, items, player classes, etc.?
There's this thing called Korax Arena I've been wanting to try on multiplayer, but it really takes away from the classic, pure Hexen with all the new characters and 8 different weapons each.

They offer an enhanced port of the engine, and a direct link to Good Old Games (GOG.com) to buy it for only six bucks.

PM...ZidaneA wrote:Where can I get Duke Nukem 3D?
Actually, most people don't even play Doom or Doom 2 anymore on Skulltag, mostly playing other mods... And actually if you play "ZDoom Wars"... you can play as the other doom games.VikingBoyBilly wrote:As far as I understand it, Skulltag can host any Doom engine game, but I've only ever seen people playing Doom. But yeah. Skulltag became a DM pit for Doom. I used to like ZDoom but Skulltag is actually better and has improved DM options to make it like Quake 3, including skins and announcer voices.
But like I said, if you want to play a Hexen deathmatch, I'll fire up a server.

True, but it has a very different atmosphere and enhanced gameplay elements.Draik wrote:Technically, Hexen is a DOOM-like (same engine).
Or better yet, try Quake Live. It's essentially a free in-browser online version of Quake 3. It's not really my type of MP game, but quite fun.Draik wrote:I could go a round of Quake 3. Use ioquake3 engine.
