It's, um, monospaced?

I use IE8. Maybe your browser shows it differently?

Hmm. Seems to be a Chrome thing. Firefox displays it properly.

Why exactly do people use Chrome?

Goodness only knows. I found it hard to use after Firefox - it's very minimalist, and while I usually prefer clean minimalism, it's just a little too different from Firefox. Also the compact toolbars at the top take up very little space, but feels cramped. I like Firefox, with its clearly distinct toolbars.

Why exactly do people continue to blinkeredly use IE? Also "I use sites that don't support firefox right so its justified" is not an excuse, it's the site designers' own damn fault for not sticking to standards.

Personally, I use Chrome for heavily scripted sites like Facebook, which Firefox chokes on quite frequently and Chrome handles much more responsively. Firefox is still preferable for general browsing, but I tend to be lazy and visit my main haunts in the same window.

Complete agreement on the IE sentiment.

I've been downsizing this one pixel at a time and...could somebody please explain how this is more than 255 characters? Is it something to do with the encoding or it because I suck at multiplication?

Links to what? Those are special characters, not image links. Or is there something I fundamentally don't understand about encoding? :P
