Keen 9: Battle of the Brains Soundtrack

Post by _mr_m_ »

I've been working off and on getting songs that I did for BotB put together in glorious MP3 form..

Alas, I don't have every submission I made done. But I do however have a song done and ready to share.

So instead of waiting for all the songs to be done, I decided to release them as they are finished.

Also, this goes for EVERYONE who's music was heard in the final release of BotB:

If you have the time, it would be greatly appreciated if you made a fully rendered MP3 of your music; even if it is only a 30 second loopable piece, everyone should be able to hear your composition as you heard it in your mind.

PM me links to your songs, and I'll make sure they get organized here with the rest.

And now, without further ado:

Spaced Out
MP3, Variable Bitrate, 4.3MB

Shikadi Rock Part II
MP3, Variable Bitrare, 2.45MB

I got this on my computer apparently from somewhere in nov '10. Were any changes made to this in the meantime?

The song itself didn't change any, I just re-mixed and mastered the whole track. There should be some noticeable differences.

If this is as awesome as the DitD one, I will teleport to your house and kiss your shoes 9001 times.
Seriously, I'm looking forward to this a lot.

Sorry to bump this - I just registered an account on the forums here to be able to say "thank you!" for this. I loved the soundtrack in the game, and the MP3 version's even better.

I really hope the rest of these are gonna be made available soon, too. ;)

Sounding awesome, Mr. M :)

Here is the IMF tracklist, the midi/mp3 list (some of the songs are missing in this format), and several outtakes from a number of composers.

I'm more interested in the Keen 8 soundtrack. Has that ever been released?
Some of those songs were so good, that dare I say they compete with Mr. Prince himself.

Also, get a move on with those MP3's. You made a whole thread for one track? You're killin' me! :dead

Edit: TWO tracks?

Oh, yay! :) Thanks for that one, too!

BTW, I always meant to ask, is the initial bit of the melody (that is, the guitar part) taken from another song? The whole "dada-dada-da-da-daaaa" bit sounds VERY familiar - almost as if there should be some lyrics to go with it, too.

But I can't really lay my finger on what it reminds me of... well, maybe I'm wrong, anyway, and it isn't quoting/referencing anything. ;)
