na, i think its just a really general idea with a very general name. im sure it'd pop up now and again in fiction on its own.
but yeah im really not a fan of the psychic type explanations for stuff in Dr Who. it always just feels like such a cop-out,and unfortunately i think the show seems to use it more and more.

In all seriousness, the idea of Mortimer being tied in to the Great Intelligence would be VERY interesting...though I doubt the Intelligence would want to nuke the universe.

Well, prior to the new origin story, the Great Intelligence was a "Great Old One" who'd survived a previous universe's collapse. So it isn't entirely unprecedented.
