Keen Music in Mario Paint

Post by Mink »

I've been messing around with Mario Paint Composer lately, and I finished "Wednesday on the Beach" a few days ago. You can view it here. What do you think of it?

Good work, sounds great. :) I've never even heard of Mario Paint before.

Hahah Tempo:314. Great :)

Was this version of Mario Paint ever released on the actual Mario Paint for SNES? You couldn't do sharps or flats with the one I remember using...

It's actually a different program entirely. Check it out here. It's basically just the composer from MP, but with more features (or so I assume... I haven't bothered using it yet. :p)

Heheh, I didn't know there was an online composer for the mario paint thing. I see this, yet I can't find any programs out there that let me compose SPC (SNES) music... sigh... maybe I'm not looking hard enough :disguised

Download Setzer's SPC soundfont. If you need a free program to use the SF2, try LMMS (runs in Linux and supposedly Windows).

Awesome.

The music in Keen is unique, and it works with super mario sounds, too.

Great work.

Cool. What did you use to record the video of it?

I'm glad you all liked it. I'm working on "Make it Tighter" at the moment.

I used CamStudio, a free program that can record videos of your screen. It's available here.

Thanks. I tried it out and it seems to slow my computer to a crawl when recording, just like all other screen recording programs I've tried. I don't know why they always do that, it's a real pain.

Oh this makes me laugh. The piece is great don't get me wrong, but its just that mario paint always brings a smile and a small chuckle.
Forget it.

I was kinda hoping for something that actually lets me compose things in the SPC format, but a soundfont of the SPC instruments is just as good :dopekeen

If only FL Studio would let me open up an SPC to investigate their techniques :dead2
