Because Zelda is awesome. Just wondering if... well... thread title.

I'm back... kind of? Not really.

My favourite?
It is absolutely illegal for any civilised person to respond to that question with anything other than a hearty "Ocarina of Time, of course!"
...which is why I'm saying Twilight Princess.

I don't usually play Zelda, but when I do....
I play A Link To The Past.
I'm playing through it for at least the tenth time now. It's such an easy game. But this playthrough, I'm skipping all unnecessary items.
No bottles, no capes, no defense, no tempered sword, no magic powder, no increased magic meter, no pieces of heart. I call this The Chosen Challenge. It's extremely tough. Not even the hacks are as hard. Currently I'm in the last dungeon, Ganon's Tower and it's kicking my around. Very fun. I recommend trying it. If you have A Link To The Past, either for SNES or GameBoy Advance, try The Chosen Challenge--but you'll need to bring your A-game.
Oh, and I played Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks. Quite fun.

Commander Keen in... Canteloupe Quest!
Nobody ever says Link's Awakening, though that is clearly the best one. I played all the classic ones (i.e. non 3D) and liked all of them except Zelda 2.
Anyone here into Zelda Classic?

You crack me up little buddy!
I've bumped into this in the past, but never really tried it. But now that you pointed it out, I'll give it a try since it looks really cool.tulip wrote:Nobody ever says Link's Awakening, though that is clearly the best one. I'm actually relatively new to Zelda, started playing since Skyward Sword. Felt like picking it up because I realized at the time that the Zelda franchise is older than me. Talk about standing the test of time!
I'm hoping to pick up the good Zelda Wii and Wii U games; I've got SS, the Wind Waker HD and a VC copy of the original game. I also have a list of games to look out for.

No, but I loved the Nintendo Game&Watch version of Zelda back in the '90s. I played that a lot, alongside Bomb Sweeper. I should buy them back...
Anyway, I'm interested in trying other Zelda ganes...some day.
Does anyone want to recommend som good retro Zelda's?
(According to the AVGN, there aren't many bad Zelda games...But can you recommend some of the best? Again, preferably retro, not modern.)

Legend of Sen, no doubt. Though acquiring it may be tricky.wolfcub7 wrote:No, but I loved the Nintendo Game&Watch version of Zelda back in the '90s. I played that a lot, alongside Bomb Sweeper. I should buy them back...

I can see where the "I can't see the appeal of the first" comes from. I for myself thought (and still do think) its graphics are ugly. But back when I had an NES this and Super Mario Bros. were the only two games I had for quite a while, and it really grows onto you the more you get into it.
