Pfft, maybe for your LINEAR stories. Those are sooo 2013.

Thing is, if I allow threads to end, there's a real risk of people abusing the system so they ALL end!

What happens if we just enter no options though? Same abuse could take place?

Maybe wait until there's a lot of chapters, then allow endings? That'll mean there are probably too many eventualities for someone to bother dicking around with and closing.

I fixed the bug that allowed that...

That might be an idea. The chapter count isn't really rising like it was though. I worry people have already got bored of it... :(

Edit: I decided to show the number of chapters on the home page.

how about you have to at least have 1 option untill it has gotten to a certain depth (maybe 10?) then allow an ending. Also it would be funny if you could connect some storyline options with other pages (I.E. have a side plot that ends and goes back to normal)

Edit: @Stupidbunny Keen must love his Sugar Stoopies and cartoons right? ;)

What's this? Only 30 chapters and already we're thinking about endings? Preposterous! I don't want to see any endings until we hit 100 chapters! It's going to be a pain to animate each of these episodes into an interactive video..

I'd leave that to Paramultart and Spleen, given their "excellent" work with Mr Shpurp. :P

Thanks for the 3 more chapters, BTW.

That would work right up until you tried to write the next section...

You know, I've seen a lot of stupid ideas on Kickstarter, but in terms of stupid ideas that actually get funded, this one takes the cake.

The only trees I want to kill in my text adventure games are the digital ASCII ones in "Lumberjack Quest IV.bas"

Hah! I just noticed that thing prints out paper instead of having a video display. What a waste.

And yet I still await the paperless office.

You guys and your concerns about paper waste... You should visit some company offices to see what a paper wasting is...

I work in one and frequently visit another - one has made great advances in paper reduction, the other none.

The nifty thing about this is you get a printed copy of the story you can show to other people if you liked it. That's pretty neat. It's also nice to detach from a computer at times... or you could just read a choose your own adventure book which is already printed.
