Keen 7-9 revision

Post by szemi »

A few years ago, as you read, Ceilick mentioned he will do a revision of Keen 7-9.

My question: Will that happen or the current versions of the TUIT episodes stay?
Yeah, piece of cake!

He once said he's working and is too busy in real life, so chances are we will not see this happening anytime soon. However, there are slightly better chances of seeing Sign of the vool finished in the upcoming years, since he put so much effort in it and it would be a shame to leave all that hard work behind, so hold your breath.

Yeah it won't be happening, sorry.

SOTV is the only project I hope to complete, everything else is :dead2

I think what some of us really should be doing is focusing on innovation, not polishing up great mods that some of us may feel is already good as-is. Honestly, my main source of agitation here is the fact that I've spent many long hours working on some nice, brand new tilesets that nobody seems to want to do a bloody thing with. And I'm finally speaking up about it.

What tilesets? For Keen 4-6? If so, I might be interested.

I created two complete tilesets, as well as map designs, various items/gems, sprites for creatures, and a score box. It would be so great if they all can be used because they're stunningly eye-catching and quite detailed. I just really don't have the time to make a mod of my own. If you'd like, you may PM me to discuss your mod further.

I'd jump on them... but I have far too much to do and far too little time as it is. Still, if they end up being unused... tempting.

stop it LL. you can't just thief them away from me. I'm gonna propose an offer that Mobiethian cannot refuse:
I'll help you putting together a one level demo to present the community your graphical skills. how sounds that?!

That sounds fantastic! I'll be sending you everything together when I look them over to make sure no changes are needed. Sigh of relief, thank you!

what better what is there to show of tiles? a level! ^^
I'm not even Tile creator, but that is an offer i could not refuse, regardless :o

Although i don't see much reason to revision Keen 7-9, as they are pretty stellar!
aside maybe some minor graphical tweaks
like Krodacian's open eyes in stone form
or Mortimer's looking too much like keen doing dialog
it may sound like i'm nit picking, but it's coming from love for the mods! <3
(i have tweaked both for myself)

Sounds like Modding to me, or did we just go meta yo dawg?
"yo' dawg i heard you liked modding, so we put mods in your mod so you can have a mod in your mod!"

For Keen 7 I would suggest to remove the underwater level as it makes Keen 7 too Keen 4ish (if you get what I mean).
Yeah, piece of cake!

No no no, Keen 7 should be nothing but water levels.

In all seriousness, though, Keen 7 is so close to Keen 4 that if you're going to make that argument, you may as well change a whole lot of other things, too.

While I did enjoy playing these mods, I think it's time to move on and make new stuff, personally.
