Inspiration for Galaxy Mods?
Hello friends,
I'm not sure if Im posting this in the right category but I was told to share stuff that I think it could be usefull for any future galaxy mods. I was playing recently "Sword of Xolan". Its a free to play app and I noticed some intressting plattforms in this game.

I think it would be quite difficult to code them exactly the same way, right? (Sorry, I dont have any level design experience) I think even without the motion the spikes under certain plattforms could be useful?

This is probably easy to implement in Keengine as a single image actor. For such an actor you would need to define size, define area of death and area of solid ground, tell it to rotate itself to 180 degree 2 times, and define x amount of time to stay on-hold for each side.

It would make mods more difficult, that's for sure!that's not a bad idea. at least it would prevent from cheating

You could probably get something like this to work in the normal Galaxy engine as well, though the effect wouldn't be as nice as it is Xolan due to animation frames and collision limitations. Instead of having it rotate like the red platforms, it might make sense just to have spikes that takes turns coming out from the top and bottom ends. Sounds pretty evil though.

That's true cause in Xolan you play with 60FPS anyway. But I think the idea is still nice, even if it would make everything more difficult ;Dwouldn't be as nice as it is Xolan

I wouldn't know about the patch-code to reprogram 4 extra tiles for the animation and Danger zones one one side of it...

a) animated foreground tiles maybe... I might give this a shot
b) animated as a sprite we would need a little the help from @Levellass or @lemm

Woah, your fast at creating stuff. First you optimized my Commander Neon, and now you already made a prototype of these plattform....

It's pretty much a sprite, but is being handled as tiles
likely due to the mechanical familiarity with the disappearing Miragia platforms
and how they made that work in the first place ^.~

(Actually it's slug poison)
Only in Keen 6 and Dream (of the Galaxy once)
although in the mod Keen 10, you can walk in water if it is less then waist high.
But else wise, Water in Galaxy is deadly without a swimsuit
who knows what secrets he could discover, if he kept it on all time, and could just into water on the fly.

Slug poison? Gnosticus IV (or should I say Shadowlands) just become a more darker place. This brings many questions. Who would want to extract poison out of the slugs? Could it be the oracles? For what purpose? Is this the secret ingredient for wisdom and longevity? Or is it a powerful deadly weapon for the Shikadi? Is the underground section of Border Village a secret slug mining facility where they torture slugs to get poison? Could the slug statue be not a statue, but the dead body of a captured living slug? A dead slug, which poison lies in the pools near it's dead body? Could the Dopefish-es be a result of a mutation effect of the poison?
