If somebody has a youtube channel and earns some pocket money by that, don't be surprised or freak out if you get your videos marked with a yellow dollar sign. Youtube included a new system (controlled by a program), with a filter for certain videos. Unfortunately this system is not optimized yet. It also marks completely "ok" videos and disables the monetization or is limiting it. But that is not a big deal! If you let you video check up by an option that appears in the "monetization" options then, this yellow dollar sign will disappear in the next 1 or 2 days. You can upload your videos, and put them first as "unlisted" to see if it will pass through and put it back online to avoid some ad-sense loss.
This system will help out to stop people earning money from videos that contain rassism, sexism, violence, fakenews, clickbait and even more negative stuff that actually turned Youtube into some kind of "trash video" plattform during the last couple of years. Advertising partners have now the right to choose what kind of videos will be cathegorized as not friendly enough for their advertisement.
Some Youtubers already freaked out, because they didn't read any further information about these changes and already moved to an other plattform like Twitch or Vidme. In my opinon a silly move but I don't want to start any further discussion about that topic.
The point is, that these rules always existed in the general terms and conditions but Google never showed up any consequences for negative content. It was only a matter of time until they would wake up or take them serious.

In a summary: If you don't upload things that are listed in the article above you won't get in trouble.
