In other words, this sucks.

So did I. Not really anything different at all except for the sounds in the intro.

You are given the option of either running at 640 x 480 or at 960 x 600. Also, they added in new effects when you kill the boss ships and it looks kinda cool.

So, yeah, pretty much, this is a ripoff. Tyrian is better and it's free.

Tyrian is better and it's free.
Actually...I think that you might want to reconsider that statement.

No, Galaxieretter is absolutely correct. Posting links to childish YouTube videos won't change a thing about it.

He's half-correct. Tyrian is free, but it's not better than Raptor :P Then again, can we discuss about a matter of taste?

I'm going to vote 1 Tyrian here. Raptor was fun, but there's no way I can call it better than Tyrian.

I don't understand why you even compare Raptor with Tyrian? They don't have much in common, except that they are both smups, but that's all. Neither were they released in a same year, neither were they competing each-self, neither are having similar style, story, game mechanics etc.

The shareware version was kind of cool when I was a kid, but honestly these types of games rather suck. Once you've played one, you've played 'em all.

Personally, I think Major Stryker was a far better game than Raptor or Tyrian.

This game wasn't released in any sneaky fashion. It is also available on good ole games.

Scott Host and his partners did a very good job on this updated version of Raptor.
