Good points, Malvineous and XkyRauh. I was concerned about spoiling the full version by giving too much away in the trial, but I think that was the wrong focus. For Dirk 2, I'll pack out the demo with some really cool stuff.Malvineous wrote:Just a suggestion, but if you keep all the best stuff for the full version then people are only going to see a rather simplistic shareware version and may not bother getting the full game - remember that your shareware version is the ad for the game, and the better that is, the more likely people are to buy the full version.
Alright, I think this is about enough about Keen -- in this topic. But no need for topic about this in any Keen section, either.

By the way, nice idea to make a mailing list for a Keen site. I've never even thought of that.

The art here is bland at best. The background stuff is average, hovering just above the line to mediocrity, and the character art is flat like cardboard and looks really uninspired. Hell, I'm going to go out on a limb and say most Keen mods have more depth and drive behind the art than this, and they're heavily restricted by 16 colors and a pre-existing closed source engine. The screenshots are so dull that I literally can't make myself even want to try the game to see if it really is as bad as it looks.
