Definitely not as many as you but basically every time I download a mod or levelpack to play it I never delete it and just keep it forever. I lost my "collection" once when switching to a new computer but otherwise I keep them all.
Except for Battle of the Brains, I always seem to misplace that one and have to go looking for a download link all over again every time I decide I want to play it.

I wish I knew. The game is cursed, it keeps disappearing on me. Maybe it's what makes playing it feel so rewarding each time.

Nice line-up, AndyFox, however to me Keen0 will always be entropicdecay's mod (April Fools edition of course)!

Re: What Keen games do you have on your computer?
This post wasn't what I was expecting. After posting 120+ Keen games on my computer I was expecting you to ask me why nothing in the list was yours. I have played most if not all of them once or twice in the past, especially Musical Keen, which I thought about downloading again just recently. They were all in my download folder at one time, but I cannot remember what happened to them. Obviously they were never added to my Commander Keen folder on my desktop. Maybe one day soon I will check them out again.

Re: What Keen games do you have on your computer?
Sadly most of my mods over the years were, even at the best of times, quite annoying to play through, so I don't blame you. But hearing mention of efforts such as "Musical Keen" brings me feelings of pleasant nostalgia for a time when I felt creative inspiration which truly drove me to get things done!
I too have a "collection" of mods on various discs and computers! Nothing particularly irreplaceable of course. Worryingly my old Compaq laptop wouldn't boot up at all the last time I was at my parents' place.
More worrying - and a cautionary tale - is that a CDR is not the safe haven of data backup that one once naively thought it was. At least one old disc from about 2002 probably does have the only copies of some stuff I was doing back then but it got rendered unreadable by sunlight in the intervening years.
Further back, in my pre-Keening days, my life was revolutionised when my dad gave me a whole 100MB Zip Disk to keep my files in... almost like getting my own computer in a way. (Back then his main hard drive was only 1GB). I think I have most of the files off the Zip Disk.

Re: What Keen games do you have on your computer?
The reason I mentioned Musical Keen is because that is the only one that stands out right now. If you gave me a list of mods and asked me to pick which ones are yours I could probably remember the right ones for the most part, but off the top of my head I can't remember a single one except Musical Keen.Benvolio wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 18:17 Sadly most of my mods over the years were, even at the best of times, quite annoying to play through, so I don't blame you. I've noticed Keen 0: Printed to Pluto mentioned a couple times already.

I used to have more, but due to migration of PCs over the years, I've lost some.
My current Vorticon mods:

My Galaxy mods:

My Keen fangames:

Re: What Keen games do you have on your computer?
I seem to have nearly 200 mods in my computer, along with about 25% of the fangames (which are mixed within a folder with non-Keen fangames) I say. This doesn't count any of the stuff I made. I also have all seven of the original Keen games, of course. I have all of Ceilick's mods up to Battle of the Brains within a Ceilick folder. I think I also had a folder for all of Benvolio's mods up to the 2011 fun pack (or Bunny Basher 2?), but I seem to have to lost it, probably due to a hard drive switch. I know I played a bunch of Levellord mods in the past, but I'm not sure if I have any in my computer right now, aside from ShadowKeen 2.
Seeing other people's lists, I find it interesting that two of them have all of my Vorticon mods except for The Morticore. I wonder why that's the case; was it just not as appealing as my other mods? Also, Syllypryde, I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on my mods (Sunnylands included, which you seemed to have beaten) if you don't mind, whether in a forum reply or a PM. I like having new feedback, and I think you do a really good job at that kind of stuff. By the way, it makes me smirk seeing Fastest Gun in the West in your list. I remember when KeenRush made a joke response to that.

Quillax Ship - Where you can download all of my cool, keen mods and super-marvelous fangames!
Re: What Keen games do you have on your computer?
I maintain a mirror of each and every Keen game hosted on the KeenWiki servers as a backup on my private servers—just in case, you know. While working on the wiki, I've delved into nearly every Galaxy mod, but approached them more from a developer's perspective, if you catch my drift. The full mods that have truly impressed and influenced me end up (slightly modified of course) on my custom handheld, which I dust off every now and then to play one of those games.
As a humble student I generally enjoy everything that comes out of Levellass' creative workshop, including Vorticon (!) mods.
Oh, and nearly two decades ago, in a fit of madness, I took it upon myself to play every Keen mod and fangame out there. An utopian endeavor, as even my younger me came to realize. There are just way too many! Instead, I do my best to maintain the countless mods and fangames out there as best as I can.
