DRO2Midi Linux Usage

Post by Scilicet »

Hey all, I am trying to my transcription easier by using this tool, but I can't seem to get something right. I downloaded then extracted the tar.gz to my Music directory, then tried to extract the IMFs to the dro2midi folder. They don't show up in there, so I extracted them to Music and then copied to dro2midi, but when I try to use the utility with the following command, this happens: ~/Music/dro2midi-1.7$ dro2midi K5T07.imf K5T07.mid --> dro2midi: command not found, although dro2midi.cpp is in the directory. The same thing happened when I tried it in my home directory. What am I missing?

Okay, as it turns out, I needed to do more than just extract the file. For people like me who are less familiar with the back end of Linux, it would be appreciated to have more extensive instructions on what to do after extraction.

I got it to work but still need to do ./dro2midi, or I still get command not found if I omit the ./ .

Commenting with nothing of value to add and no intention to use the software, but to say thank you for revisiting your thread to let everyone know your fix.
