Jumping into the fire will be a real treat! Cuddly teddy bear, too!

Next build will have the last two levels for you all to try out. Next up, I need to make a crashed ship and distribute out the parts for Keen to collect.

New Build: http://josephmcarney.com/test/KeenTest39.html
Linus: http://josephmcarney.com/test/KeenTest39.tar.gz

Got all the ship parts scattered in the 6 levels, so see if you can collect em all ok!

Next up I need to handle stuff like saving, high scores and ending the game.

Ah, the new levels! Well done, sir! Plays like a dream. Turns out I didn't have to purposefully jump in the fire. I did it by accident three or four times. I feel like the T-1000. I also kept running into a Garg because he was pacing along with a yorp.
It's almost finished!

Though there may be some minor tweaks or bug fixes, I'm calling the project finished.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank this community for it's support. Several times since I started the project (back in 2013!!) I came close to calling it quits, but the encouragement of the members here inspired me to press on. And, I have to say, it feels incredible to FINISH what I started.

I started the project to learn how to code a game in Unity. At the time I was unemployed, trying to break into the industry. Now I am lucky enough to have a job doing what I love! I owe much of that to this project, and therefore, you.

So, thank you guys and gals. I couldn't have done it without you.

Thanks!

I should be happy now, but I feel more sad because you're leaving this. What can I say? It's the best keen platformer utilizing 3D.

Looking forward to your next project.

Awesome. The ending was a pleasant surprise; I just figured it would end with a static screen. But yeah, this is really good. Wherever you are working now, and whatever you're working on (Hey, what is it? Tell us! Tell us, we can keep a secret! :P), I'm glad that your talents are not going to waste.

...Man, was it really 2013? That's nuts. This thing has come a long way, and it was cool to watch it evolve, functionally and aesthetically.

Ronnie, will you consider putting at least sound effects? This is such a major and important thing that it just cannot be missed!

Re: 2.5D Keen

Hi all! Sorry to resurrect an ancient thread, but I wanted to let everyone know I took some time to get this project playable again. The issue was that Unity deprecated their Web Player, which broke all the old builds I had linked here. But I had some time over the long weekend to open the project back up, look upon my old code in horror, and get it all working again! It looks a bit different now since I couldn't quite replicate the level lighting, but it all should be functional!

Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing
^ In there you should find a zip file for both PC, Mac, and Linux. Download the one that works with your OS and unzip it. For PC, open the folder and double click the Keen Project.exe to play. For Mac, the unzipped file should be an .app you can double click.

I also just want to say that the support I received on this forum has had a hugely positive impact on my life, even 5 years (!) later. I'm still working in games professionally, and I have no doubt that what I learned while building Keen 2.5D helped shape me into the developer I am now. So to everyone that took the time to give me feedback, report bugs and just encourage me to keep going, THANK YOU <3

Neat, finally I'm able to play this game which I missed back then, thank you! :) I tried the Windows build, and from what I've seen so far, it works very well.
