It was a kids game 20 years ago, but just like all of us it and Keen grew up.Keening_Product wrote:More focus on kids? This IS a kids' game, right?
Seriously though I'm a bit ambivalent on the issue; I do want another game, preferably it gets handed to Tom Hall and he can finally finish the trilogy the way he wants it, but the way the big companies chuck out garg every now and again does concern me.
It seems that what people think kids should play has changed. In the early days of games (1980s to mid 1990s) games were seen as much more family oriented than they are now. Pac Man was deliberately created to appeal to women, Monster Bash was something goofy for the family, Keen could be played by anyone.Keening_Product wrote:More focus on kids? But then the market turned towards young men and shooting lots of badguys with blood n' such and now that's what we tend to think of when we speak of video games. (Games like Farmville and Candy Crush Saga are of course ignored.)
So if Keen were retooled for kids I don't know 8what* they'd do to it.
But here, have some Candy Jam games: http://www.wired.com/underwire/2014/02/candy-crush/
What you really need, not what you think you ought to want.

I can't hide my disappointment. The girl looks terrible, the trailer is awful even though I think that the only explanation for this poor student-like quality is that it is meant to look that bad. Its intention is to bring a nostalgic feeling for when Duke Nukem Forever was meant to be released back in the early 2000s.
