Keen Discord Server

As per request from our local korathian,

Our tenured veterans know and use the Keen IRC Channel for years, but many keeners have taken interest in Discord, the popular chat room place thingy. It's quite helpful for those than need a realtime back-and-forth instead of the forum format we're all used to here on PCKF. So for those that want a pinch of extra connectivity with the community, checkout our Discord. To be invited, get in touch (PM or otherwise) with myself, DHeadshot, Commander Spleen, MoffD, CKeen, ckguy, Fleex, Nisaba, Captain Plasma, etc etc. It may not sound like much, but please consider the added bonus that our liege lord Lunick makes guest appearances on the server. You might even get a chance to voice chat with him on Hotline Lunick!

Signing up is easy if you don't have a Discord account. If you do have an account it's even easier. It's also less difficult to coordinate a NetKeen game with Discord! There are about 40 members so far.

Update for anyone who is unable or unwilling to use the Discord client: There is a plugin for the open source Pidgin instant messaging application that allows you to communicate with Discord servers without running the full client. Though you do still need to sign up for a Discord account first.

It's a bit more like using IRC without having to deal with all the extra server configuration. You don't get the channel history on login, and it's text only so you can't post images. It sends links to uploaded images when others post them.

On Linux you can get the 'pidgin' and 'purple-discord' plugin packages directly from the package manager.
